Achraf Hakimi is a professional footballer who was born on November 4, 1998, in Madrid, Spain. He is of Moroccan descent and holds dual citizenship of Spain and Morocco. Hakimi grew up in Madrid and began playing football at a young age.
Hakimi's parents are both Moroccan. His father, Rachid Hakimi, is a restaurant owner, while his mother, Halima Hakimi, is a housewife. Achraf has four siblings, two older sisters named Nawal and Hanane, and two younger brothers named Walid and Nabil.
Hakimi began his youth career at the age of eight with local club Colonia Ofigevi. He later joined Real Madrid's youth academy in 2006, where he progressed through the ranks and eventually made his senior debut in 2017.
In the summer of 2018, Hakimi was loaned to German club Borussia Dortmund for two seasons. He quickly established himself as a key player for Dortmund and became a fan favorite. He scored his first Bundesliga goal for the club in September 2018 against Nuremberg and went on to make 73 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists.
After a successful loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, Hakimi signed for Inter Milan in 2020 for a reported fee of €40 million. At Inter Milan, he has become a key player and has been instrumental in their success, helping them win the Serie A title in his first season at the club.
Hakimi is primarily a right-back but can also play on the left side of defense and as a winger. He is known for his speed, dribbling ability, and attacking prowess.
